What are Confined Spaces?

Many industries contain areas that are considered “confined spaces” because these areas are not designed for humans to work there on continuous basis. These could also be machines where-in maintenance jobs have to take place. It also has narrow/limited entry or exit points. Example of confined spaces include kilns, tanks, vessels, silos, storage bins, hoppers, vaults, pits, manholes, tunnels, equipment housings, duct work, pipelines, etc.

Lighting the interior of confined area work spaces is almost always a necessary requirement.

Pyrotech offers 24V AC lights for maintenance/confined space applications as per industry standards. These lights are used during shutdown/plant maintenance as these lights have to be moved from one location to another location. In this application is recommended to avoid 220V AC so as to prevent electrocution hazard. The applications include maintenance of kiln, mill, boilers etc. during the plant shut down. It could even include tunnels etc.
