Quality Standards to Consider Before Buying LED Lights
As we know that the upcoming time is of LED Lights. Less life & non eco-friendly features have made incandescent lamps almost obsolete. So its a very good time to switch to LED Lights. Every person is not so much familiar of LED light's technical terms and quality standards. Hence they may end up choosing substandard luminaire. So, for reducing these type of issues we are highlighting below mentioned points to consider before buying LED luminaries.
(1) IEC Certification :-
LED Lights technology is upgrading with time. Hence for this some of the countries have adopted safety and quality standards defined by international electro technical commission (IEC).
Some of the IEC Certification which Pyrotech provides are -
IEC 61000-3-2, IEC 61000-3-3, IEC 61000-4-2, IEC 61000-4-4, IEC 61000-4-5, IEC 61000-4-6, IEC 61000-4-8, IEC 61000-4-11, IEC 61347, IEC 62384.
(2) LM 79 & LM 80 :-
LM 79 defines efficacy, electrical power, total luminous flux, CRI & CCT & other parameters of LED lights. LM 80 measures the lumen depreciation, color shift etc of LEDs at various temperatures. This is the method for analyzing the LED's performance over it's lifetime. It can also be considered as reliability analysis.
(3) Heat sink :-
Due to electric current in LED lights its produces heat. If this heat is not removed out of LED's then it can damage the LED or can reduce the life span of LED. So for the dissipation of heat out of LED, LED housing must have the arrangement of heat sink. This heat sink provides a way to take heat out from the LED.
(4) Lumen :-
Lumen is known as total quantity of visible light emitted by the luminaire. It is also known as luminous flux. Generally the more lumen, more lux level at ground level (assuming DLOR as 100%).
(5) Prices :-
Price of LED lights is the main factor to be focused by each & every customer before buying the lights. Pyrotech offers best LED lights with excellent features at very reasonable prices.
(6) IP Rating:-
IP (Ingress protection) specifies degree of protection against dust and water. Generally it is more common to specify IP ratings in outdoor range. This is applicable for outdoor products such as LED Street lights, Flood lights & Industrial lights, under water lights etc.
(7) Power Factor :-
Power factor in LED lights is measured as how effectively the load takes power from the line. Power factor is the ratio of real power to the apparent power and this ratio will produce the figure between zero to unity.
Pyrotech provides power factor >0.95. For most of the products in LED lights for maintaining poor power factor utility can impose a penalty on its consumers
(8) PCB :-
Metal PCB should be used for LED mounting. This results in better heat dissipation as against FR material.
